About the Instructor
Gloria Youn received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano Performance and a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She also studied piano at the Chicago Musical College. Her teachers included Dean Sanders, William Heiles, Joel Shapiro, Ian Hobson, Kwang Ho Seo and Phylis Hill.
Mrs. Youn studied jazz improvisation with Tony Caramia. She studied Suzuki Piano Method with Fay Adams at the University of Tennessee and Caroline Fraser at HNU Suzuki Piano Teacher Training Institute. She also received her Kindermusik teacher training at Agnes Scott College and Warren Wilson College. In addition she studied Music Reading and Nurturing Suzuki Studio/Parents/Students at HUN Suzuki Teacher Training Institute.
Mrs. Youn has been a piano teacher for 40 years. She also served as Suzuki Piano Chair at Levine Music in Washington DC area where she has been a Suzuki piano faculty member since 1996.
She is also a member of Music Teachers National Association, Maryland State Music Teachers Association and Suzuki Association of the Americas.
